Happy Halloween Tomorrow We Leave The Commune

Happy Halloween to anyone who stumbles across this blog and since you will most likely if at all come across this post after Halloween then well maybe Merry Christmas? Halloween for me this year is preparing my pack and bag for transport and making sure I have everything. I loaded the Ipod with Howard Stern and Norm Macdonald podcasts and the phone with King Of The Hill and Bob's Burgers just in case I need something to watch at any given moment. We are still in the process of obtaining the final funds to proceed so the worst case scenario we will have to sleep at the rest atop and spend the days at the library for 1-3 days but again that is worst case. What we expect is to be on the road Nov 1st 2017 before 10am and that seems to be moving forward without a hiccup so far and so until it falls apart that is the current update. So if you are out tonight drinking or fucking please be careful and take care. Until the next one.

PROJECT X

Straight Edge was important in the 1980's. Not because I was a part of the movement or claimed to be straight edge but rather because of the music that was spawned from it all. Let's see SSD, Minor Threat, Youth Of Today, Gorilla Biscuits, JUDGE, and then for one brief moment their was PROJECT X. Not the most notable 7" inch of the era but you be the judge.

Public Bike Repair Stations

On the road we came across a few bicycle repair stations. They were for the most part operational but with the excess of assholes in the world many were vandalized or for better words broken on purpose. The good thing is that not everyone is an asshole (let's be honest most are though:) so let's hope someone was able to get some use out of the stations before the assholes caught wind of them. My favorite one was in Port Orford Oregon on the coast right on the 1 or 101. It was in good repair and I was told that 100's of cyclists make there way through town every year and the station is appreciated.

Medicine and just plain getting high

If you watch my videos you know I partake in the devils lettuce. I have been for over 30 years and it has been a tremendous aid with my insomnia and anxiety as well as providing many good highs and times along the way. If you don't like it I get it but in Oregon as well as a few other states it's legal to buy, smoke and grow and if you are like me you take full advantage of this freedom that many others don't have the luxury to experience. I never thought I would see the day that I could drive down the road with weed on me and not fear the men in blue ruining my life.

A lesson learned

So if you heard me mention in a video previously that I was having problems with my external hard drive aka jail then I am with great displeasure to update you that it appears all data is lost. It holds hostage all my Go Pro footage my entire hardcore vinyl collection I ripped and 10 years of photos, videos and my entire howard stern radio archive which was almost his entire radio existence among many other really cool fucking things. But in the end it was my dumb ass that let it ride and put everything on black just to choke at the very end and be left with nothing but memories and remorse. So take my word for it. Not because I am wise but rather the opposite. BACK UP YOUR DATA!!!!!

Sleeping in the car

We spent almost a month car camping out of the 2012 Scion Xb. If you move the seats up and put something in the dead space to brace the last few inches of the 4 inch memory foam pad you can sleep 2 comfortably and be able to extend your legs completely. We used our packs and extra compression pillows to brace the small space to form a sold bed. We woke up looking at streams and mountains and on other nights people coming and going from the bathrooms of the rest areas, Some travelers and others seeking a safe place to sleep for the night like us. Oregon is one of 6 states that allow overnight sleeping in highway rest areas and they have some very nice ones with bathrooms and free coffee if you happen to be there the day the program has it's camper parked out front. You are only suppose to stay 12 hours in a 24 hour period but there were many RV's parked with generators and it was obvious they didn't move during the day.
